It is our mission to inspire people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities to follow a lifelong passion for sport and healthy lifestyles through the provision of excellent sport & exercise facilities and sports programmes which are accessible to all.
Governed by a board of trustees, surplus monies are reinvested into the facility, activities to benefit the local community.

Active Bolton provides a broad range of activities and sports across its network of community leisure centres, making it easy for residents to get active wherever they are in the borough. Facilities in Horwich, Farnworth, Leverhulme Park, Sir Jason Kenny Centre, Westhoughton and Bolton Arena offer indoor swimming pools, gyms, fitness studios, indoor and outdoor sports pitches, and specialist training spaces.
Our community-led clubs welcome everyone, from beginners to seasoned athletes. With sessions across all six venues, there’s always something happening near you.

From boardroom-style meeting rooms to large function halls, our venues offer versatile spaces for conferences, parties, and community events – all with modern AV equipment and catering options.
Our LTA-accredited coaching programmes cater for all ages and abilities, from mini red through to performance squads and adult improvers.
Adult 5-a-side, 9-a-side, walking football and youth leagues run throughout the week on our 3G pitches. Teams and individuals welcome.
